PHI'L’S NOT-SO-FABULOUS 40TH

🌷We were all hopeful Phil would be feeling better, as HFM has turned him into a monster. He doesn't handle illness well, and with everything going on in life (parenting, Minneapolis drama, home situation, work,) there is little more I have to give, and this caused issues for us this week. We weren't each other's best friend. Phil was short with all those close to him (including his mom,) and I was overwhelmed and exhausted. Needless to say, Phil spent his 40th eating soup and ice cream, rather than my planned dinner of his grandma's lasagna and homemade dessert.

The week started off with two teachers visiting Evie at our home, to look at her developmentally. She was perfect in every respect except for the gross motor - she has little interest in standing, much less walking. However, because she is doing well otherwise, there's little reason for concern. As a mom, I still worry.

Phil left for a work trip to Austin. Normally, I hate having him away, but after this week, I needed a break from everything HFM caused.

I got to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday, Evie and I visited Lele and Poppy at their home, and my parents stepped, as they so often do, with Evie, to give me a bit of a mental break.

Here's hoping next week is better than this.🌷
