🌷Evie is priceless, but diving deep into the gestational surrogacy process is a harsh reality of just how expensive this whole process is. I remember the thousands and tens of thousands of dollars that were spent prepping for a transfer and during the pregnancy, but I clearly forgot how expensive the initial “verification” process was.

For example, the “all day” medical work-up. $5k

Two attorneys (1 for us and 1 for Heather). $2700

And perhaps the biggest money grab - the “psych workup.) Heather’s 1 hour appointment was $500. Phil and my 17 minute call - $450. Still waiting on the final psych bill for the follow-up with all of us.

I have to remind myself that the numbers seem larger in the moment, but once baby #2 arrives, we won’t give the [ridiculous] fees a second thought.🌷
